- I am as old as Mary is.

- The film is as interesting as the book was.           

- He has as many books as Peter has.

- They have as much money as we have.

- Susan has as much time as I have.

Záporná věta:      NOT SO (AS) .............. AS       ne tak ........ jako

                            NOT SO MUCH ........... AS       ne tolik ....... jako (pro nepočitatelná)

                            NOT SO MANY ............ AS      ne tolik ....... jako (pro počitatelná)

- I am not so (as) old as Mary is.   

- We are not so (as) clever as you are.      

- The film is not so (as) interesting as the book was.

- He has not so many books as Peter has.

VÍCE, MÉNĚ – 2. STUPEŇ PŘÍDAVNÉHO JMÉNA

Při srovnávání, kde použijeme druhý stupeň přídavného jména, se používá spojka THAN (než, jako).

- I am older than she is.         

- She is younger than I am.    

- My book is more interesting than your one is.

- I have more books than he has.

- He has less time than we have.

- They have more money than their son has.

NEJ … - SUPERLATIV – 3. STUPEŇ PŘÍDAVNÉHO JMÉNA

Při srovnávání ve 3. stupni přídavného jména se používá vazba s předložkou OF:

- John is the best student of all.

- This book is the most interesting one of all my books.

- I am the youngest member of our family.

- Mary is the prettiest one of the girls in our school.
